1. Can I just order frames without prescription lenses?
Yes - after clicking Buy Now on your selected frame, tick I will buy this frame without lenses.
2. Can I order glasses with a plano prescription in them (no optical correction)?
Yes. When you enter your prescription, enter “0.00” in all field for both eyes (SPHERE, CYL, AXIS, and ADD). The PD is irrelevant when there is no prescription so just enter PD as Distance: 60 Near: 57.
3. Do I need a new prescription for glasses? How do I get my spectacle prescription?
Your glasses prescription needs to be less than two years old, or before the expiry date printed on your glasses prescription (the more recent the more
accurate your vision will be). You can ask for your spectacle prescription when you have your eyes examined by an Optometrist or an
Ophthalmologist. Some optometrists bulk bill to Medicare, others charge a fee and then you can claim back most of it from Medicare. All
optometrists in Australia whose services are covered by Medicare have signed a document called the Common Form of Undertaking.
Clause 9.1 of the Common for of undertaking states “I undertake that I will ensure that patients are informed that they are entitled to a
copy of their spectacle prescription, and that they are free to have the prescribed spectacles dispensed by any person of their choice.”
Optometrists will give you a copy of your spectacle prescription when you request it. They have an obligation to give it to you as a condition
of having their services covered by Medicare.
You need to ask for your PD (Pupillary Distance) to be included as this is not always included in the glasses prescription. PD (Pupillary Distance) is often measured during
dispensing of glasses, but obviously we cannot measure your PD over the internet.
4. Can I use my contact lens prescription for glasses?

20. What happens if after receiving my online glasses I feel that they are not right ?
There are a few possibilities that need to be investigated;
- You gave us the incorrect glasses prescription. This can be checked by faxing or emailing your prescription to us.
- We made up the glasses incorrectly – this is very rare but it is a possibility that needs to be examined. This can be checked by sending the glasses back to us for assessment. If we find that the glasses were made incorrectly we will fix the problem and refund to you reasonable postage costs. You will have the option of receiving a full refund instead of having the glasses fixed.
- The prescription you gave is not appropriate for you. This is up to you to investigate. It may require having your eyes examined. If a different glasses prescription is appropriate then we can credit 50% of the amount you paid for the lenses towards the price of purchasing new lenses from us. You will also have the option of receiving a full refund of money paid to us as long as you advise us of the problem within 14 days of receiving the online glasses.
- The glasses need to be adjusted to fit you better. Check e-zine article about Frame Adjustments to see how to check if your glasses need adjustment.
- The prescription and the glasses are correct but you may need some time to adjust to your new prescription.
21. Can I get reimbursed from my private health insurance?
